Heart to HeartHeart to Heart Shanghai provides support and financial assistance to Chinese children who require heart surgery to repair their congenital heart defects. Brits Abroad makes regular contributions. http//heart2heartshanghai.net/ Home Sweet Home Home Sweet Home care for those with special needs by building their character in a loving home environment and developing their skills through education and training, and assisting their integration by being the bridge to the community. Brits Abroad helps with financial contributions. www.homesweethome.org.cn/ Mifan Mamas “The Rice Mommies” is small group of expat women who in 2009 joined forces to support orphans in Anhui province. On their first project they converted a former factory into an orphanage and took in abandoned children of all ages, some of whom are mentally and/or physically challenged. Brits Abroad helps by donating much needed clothing and other supplies. mifanmama.com/ Shanghai Sunrise For the last five years, Brits Abroad has sponsored children in need via the Shanghai Sunrise charity. This sponsorship helps to pay their school fees. www.shanghaisunrise.com/ The Charles Foundation Brits Abroad also sponsors via The Charles Foundation which supports individual students who live and study in Sichuan Province. www.CharlesFoundation.org Others we are currently helping Project Hope Project Hope is a Brits Abroad program. Entirely funded by our events, we are conducting a series of Safety Activities at Lu Bin Hua Migrant School. The event provided a fun day to raise safety awareness on traffic, flu, food and firework safety. Roots and Shoots Roots and Shoots (founded by Dr Jane Goodall) have been active in shanghai since 1999, tackling environmental issues and promoting humanitarian values.
