Giving Girl Heart to Heart
Heart to Heart Shanghai provides support and financial assistance to Chinese children who require heart surgery to repair their congenital heart defects. Brits Abroad makes regular contributions.

Mifan Mamas
“The Rice Mommies” is small group of expat women who in 2009 joined forces to support orphans in Anhui province.
On their first project they converted a former factory into an orphanage and took in abandoned children of all ages, some of whom are mentally and/or physically challenged.
Brits Abroad helps by donating much needed clothing and other supplies.

Shanghai Sunrise
For the last five years, Brits Abroad has sponsored children in need via the Shanghai Sunrise charity. This sponsorship helps to pay their school fees.

Others we are currently helping
Project Hope

Project Hope is a Brits Abroad program. Entirely funded by our events, we are conducting a series of Safety Activities at Lu Bin Hua Migrant School. The event provided a fun day to raise safety awareness on traffic, flu, food and firework safety.


Roots and Shoots
Roots and Shoots (founded by Dr Jane Goodall) have been active in shanghai since 1999, tackling environmental issues and promoting humanitarian values.
We are currently supporting their Migrant Eye glasses Programme. Just ¥100 funds an eye test and prescription spectacles for one child.
