PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE.....
I hope
you have all come back to Shanghai after the Chinese New Year festivities and "fireworks" and are looking forward
to the year of the Tiger.
In this month's newsletter, you will find the AGM report for 2009/2010. Once again we have
tried to give you a good summary of the past year's events and various membership and treasury figures. If you have any comments,
questions or ideas, please come and see me or send an email (brady_dna@hotmail.com) so we can talk it through.
We have
now formed the new Committee for 2010/11 and I know they are all excited and totally committed to taking Brits Abroad forward
in a professional way, yet still aiming to provide a friendly and supportive environment for members and their families. There
are still a few vacancies so if anyone is interested, please speak to a member of the Committee.
I would like
to say a huge thank you to all those on the Committee for 2009/2010 and in previous years. they have been such a tremendous
support to me and worked so hard (with a laugh or two along the way) to make Brits Abroad what it is today. It has been a
huge pleasure to work alongside them. Some committee members have not stood for re-election this year including Julie Lamont
who is working and Caroline Borwick, Sue Beard and Janet Moxham who are leaving over the next few months. We wish you all
the best of luck and thank you for your contribution.
Moving forward, the full list of the new Committee will be printed
in next month's newsletter. I am stepping down as President and will support the new team by helping out with PR and social
events. Janet will also continue to support the committee until she leave in the summer.
So it just remains for
me to say thank you to everyone and good luck to the new team. They have some great ideas about how to take Brits Abroad forward.
